The 'People 3.0' program, sponsored by the Obra Social La Caixa and taking place in coordination with the General Directorate of Older Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS) and the City of Ceuta, seeks to improve the social conditions of the seniors and give them a better quality of life.
The CEO of Older IMAS, Enrique Perez Abellan, this week presented the program with the mayor of Ceuta, Juan Felipe Cano, and responsible for the Obra Social La Caixa, Rocío García Vera.
At the event, Perez Abellan stressed the "value of these initiatives to continue promoting and facilitating the integration of older people in society."
The activities focused on matters of health, welfare and new technologies, will be held at the Senior Center and the Cultural Center of the town, and also come to the hamlet of Los Torraos.
The adults will participate in workshops on new technologies that will help them get closer to the younger generation through tools such as email, shopping online here or word processors.
They have also scheduled workshops on health and wellness, as said Perez, "scored work patterns to enhance the capabilities of our elders, and promote healthy and active aging and independent living."
The CEO concluded, "These workshops meet the key objectives to reduce and curb involutive processes that accompany old age, keeping physically fit and promote social and intergenerational participation, aimed at older people to contribute so active experience with the development of society. "
