School of Ceuta involved in "recycling ambassadors" competition (18/10/2014)

"Ambassadors of recycling."

That's the name of the "green" contest in which school of Ceuta who wish can participate to try to get done with rich prizes at stake: Four tablets each valued at 200 euros.

"A set is allocated for each category: 5th and 6th grade, 1st and 2nd ESO, 3rd and 4th ESO, and university and training," explains Councillor for the Environment, Carmelo Hernández.

This competition proposed by the City of Ceuta and sponsored by ECOEMBES aims to embark as many people in recycling packaging for the yellow and blue containers.

"To this end, young contestants will be photographed with adults at the time of depositing the waste in any of these two types of containers," explains Hernandez.

For every new person who engages, three points will be achieved;

by picture taken with someone that has already been photographed depositing waste in a different container to the previous one additional point will be achieved.

That is, for the same person to be photographed can earn a maximum of four points.

In addition, the entry form will be four sections: suggestions to improve service recycling tricks to store containers at home before putting in the appropriate container, tricks for folding packaging and examples of how to give new life to a container.

Each filler paragraph, possible to obtain an additional point.

The deadline for submission of papers will be open from October 24 to November 30, while the release of the winners will take place on December 19.

"In case of equality for the same category, a test on recycling playoff participants with equal number of points are made," said the mayor of the Environment ceutiense.

Third year of collaboration

"This is the third year that a similar type of activity in collaboration with ECOEMBES is performed. Portabocadillos in 2012 were distributed to all schools of Ceuta to reduce the use of disposable containers that were used at lunch and various workshops were held" aims Hernandez, who recalled that last year, "the students of the primary schools conducted their own version of the works of the Open Air Museum of Ceuta with recycled materials, jobs that were exposed later in the Cultural Center of Ceuta".
