Last week to visit the three exhibitions of The Cannery organized by the Ministry of Culture (12/01/2015)

The first series of exhibitions of The Cannery, organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities after its reopening, ends on Sunday, January 18th.

That will be the last day you can visit the group shows 'blockhouse', '13' and 'Structure, Material Object ... Action!', Opened after the completion of an international competition in which they were selected commissioners Avelino Salas, Isabel Juan Luis Martínez Abascal and Toboso.

So far, and since the exhibition opened on October 9, have gone through the Canning of Ceuta over 1,500 people.

Visitors were able to see works by artists from around the world, from different techniques and disciplines, such as installations, video creations, paintings, photographs and sculptures.

The director of the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts, Marta Lopez-Briones, stated that "with this new exhibition series has managed to speak of The Cannery as a benchmark in the world of contemporary art again."

He also added that "from Culture we have fulfilled the goal of combining the international projection of the artists and the works on the closeness to the citizens of the region, who have been involved in numerous activities such as seminars, guided tours and workshops for children and close without prejudice to latest art ".

During the three months that exposures have remained open, was held at The Cannery, under the supervision of Assistant Professor of Fine Arts of the UMU Clara Boj, the seminar 'Enable devices: Museums, schools and stories', aimed at unite education and culture.

Visits to connect ', different professionals, as the artist Angel Haro, architect Martin Lejarraga or gallery Nacho Ruiz, have made guided by the exhibitions.

The architect Fernando de Retes also served as guide except for the old factory which he transformed into an art center.

Students and families have enjoyed workshops and recreational visits designed for the smaller hand 'Doctor Creative', the artist Chari House.

"Activities that have joined culture, study and fun, and will continue to organize during the exhibition cycles due to its good reception from the public," said Marta Lopez-Briones.

During this last week that will remain exposed 'blockhouse', '13' and '! Structure, Object, Materia ... Action', The Canning open Tuesday through Friday from 16:00 to 20:00 hours;

Saturday, from 11:00 to 20:00 hours and Sunday from 11:00 to 14:00 hours.
