Concludes in Ceuta first meeting of the European project to improve the tourist image that leads the local Consistory (28/01/2015)

A busy day was terminated Tuesday January 27 the first meeting in Ceuta the European project "IBRAVE" (Improvement of Branding for Rural Areas-through Vocational Education Improvement Branding for Rural Areas through Vocational Training) , which leads the ceutiense Consistory.

A day in the morning was held at the Plenary Hall of the City of Ceuta, who welcomed the following presentations in English: "International Place Branding / Real world examples", which was conducted by the British company "Exesios" specialized design and marketing;

technological application (APP) "Zankiu" serving the small business promotion and is experiencing spectacular growth in recent months;

APP "RuMapps" application developed with LEADER funds and provides tourist information in Castilian and English on LEADER area municipalities;

and "Local, Global and Social being ... tools to help connect the world" by again "Exesios".

To conclude the morning session proceeded to a working session in groups.

In the afternoon an orchard area was visited Ceuta and working groups on the promotion of local natural resources were established.

Later participants visited museums "Antonio Campillo" and "7 Chimneys" to finish the day with dinner at the local restaurant "Painted House".

With six European partners

This initiative, funded by the European program ERASMUS + has the primary objective of working together with partners from UK, Sweden, Denmark, Croatia, Romania and Belgium to improve the image of the territories in the face of increasing its capacity tourist attraction.

This project is already working on two levels: at the international level with the other partners, and local level with students of training cycles of IES Felipe de Borbón the municipality and businesses in the area.

The first day of this meeting in Ceuta, which opened the project took place on Monday 26 January.

Morning topics such as best practices in marketing policies, keep up with the latest trends and the services they offer mobile applications in the promotion of tourism and SMEs were addressed.

Early reception of participants at the Cultural Center of the municipality, where the mayor of Ceuta, Juan Felipe Cano, said a few words of welcome to the participants was held.

Subsequently, each of the project partners presented their municipality to rest and proceeded to the presentation of case studies of project evaluation, choice of logo, communication plan, monitoring, etc.

After lunch at local restaurant "The Belt", the initial day continued with a section for global analysis, European, national and local submitted by each participant.

In the afternoon the program included a visit to "The Cannery", after which he headed to the city of Murcia for a guided tour that ended with dinner at a popular establishment in the city.

At the head

Not the first time the City of Ceuta participates in a European project, but where is the leader of one of these types of initiatives, which shall coordinate all work during the two years of duration.

"We are very happy because there is much competition between European countries and is a great achievement which granted us a project of this type, which must be emphasized that had a very high valuation," explains ceutiense Councillor for Tourism, Worship Ayala .

"This program aims to identify the tourism resources of the territories and to improve innovation capabilities of industry professionals through training," said the mayor.
