The general director of Books, Archives and Libraries, Francisco Giménez, and the Councillor of Culture of the city of Ceuta, Presentation López, today introduced the "National Sample XI-songwriters-Cantigas de Mayo" at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture Murcia
A jury of Uxía artist, presenter of Radio 3, RNE, Jose Miguel Lopez, and the critic of El Pais, Fernando Neira, selected from among 90 proposals music from 26 Spanish provinces twelve seminal battle over the 5 and 6 May to move to the final on 7 November.
Among the finalists are the Murcia José Andrés Gómez, winner of Creajoven-2010 ", in Molina de Segura, and Paul Maez, La Alcayna, along with Salvador Amor, Madrid, Andreu value of Alcaoy; David Larrínaga of Bilbao, Israel Musicante, Barcelona, Girona, Alvaro Fraile, Segovia, Gustavo Almeida, Pontevedra, Elena Patricia Bugedo and Lazarus, both of Granada, Mikel Izal, Madrid, and Evohé Duo, Barcelona.
The Uruguayan songwriter Jorge Drexler, who won an Oscar with the song "Across the River", soundtrack of the movie "Motorcycle Diaries" is the featured artist in "Cantigas de Mayo", and act on the show! awards to three winners of the contest, on May 8.
The awards consist of cash contributions of 4,000 euros, 2,500 euros and 1,600 euros for the first three winners.
The first and third prize is sponsored by the city of Ceuta, while the second prize is awarded by the Management Association of Performers (IEA).
