Opened a new specialized center of attention to victims of gender violence in Ceutí (13/12/2018)

The new Center of Specialized Care for Women Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI) of Ceutí, installed in the Multiple Use Building of the municipality, was inaugurated today by the Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Violante Tomás.

With this CAVI, which has a psychologist, a social worker and a full-time legal adviser, the regional network now has 22 centers.

Violante Tomás stressed the importance that the network of resources be increasingly broad "so that any woman who needs assistance, has it".

In this regard, he recalled that the schedule of all the CAVIs has been extended, thanks to the increase in the budget allocated to the fight against gender violence, and that the Emergency Center is open 24 hours.

In the new CAVI, women receive group or individual psychological support with the ultimate goal of empowering them and making them more autonomous and self-confident.

In the case of having children, this psychological support includes the referral to the Psychological Support Service for minors exposed to gender violence (Sapmex), which was launched in Ceutí last March.

Advice is also given on the economic, housing or protection resources they can access and they are informed of the judicial tools they have to report their aggressor.

In addition to this, the Community will launch three more centers in Alhama de Murcia, Mula and Puerto Lumbreras and new Specialized Service Points in Abarán, Bullas, Cehegín, Fortuna, Los Alcázares, San Pedro del Pinatar and Ulea.
