The people of Ceuta taken in procession to their employers San Roque and Santa Maria Magdalena on August 16, the last day of the celebrations from earlier this month has organized in honor of the saints.

In the parish church of Santa Maria Magdalena, San Roque has held since August 7 when he was dropped on a pilgrimage from his hermitage on the outskirts of Ceuta on the road to Mula.

During all those days, three quarters of the people have organized their own pilgrimages to San Roque procession.

The "low", as it is commonly called, takes place slowly as the members of the Peńa de San Roque take turns to shoulder your employer.

Throughout the tour, with stops in the road to "dance" to the saint, pilgrims alhábega give away or basil sprigs.

San Roque is one of the main religious identity of the Municipality, which started in 1648, after the town get rid of a plague epidemic that decimated the population, ceutienses decided to vote for life with the saint to profess, defend and save his feast.
