Technical Centre for Social Services and Local Police have begun a course in the city of Ceuta in order to acquire knowledge and skills to improve coordination between departments when they intervene in cases of gender violence.
Councillor for Social Policy, Purificacion Hernandez and Councilman Police, Jesus Hernandez, reminded those attending the course the importance of the victim's first contact with them to be the most appropriate and least invasive possible for her, plus generarle confidence and in any case avoid double victimization.
During the course, which is also provided on 19 and 26 April from 16.30 to 20.30 hours in the plenary hall of the town hall, attendees were instructed on action protocols and best practices, and meet existing regional resources the care of victims, including those offered by certain websites.
The so-called "pyramid of abuse or escalation of violence" that is generated in certain households is also part of the contents that will address police and technicians, as well as myths that minimize or justify the violence, warning signs alarm and young couples and performances with the victims and men who are violent.
The demystification of equivocal attitudes in relationships between couples, such as jealousy and the myth of romantic love, along with traditional gender socialization and subordination of women, are other topics that impact the course and prevention of gender violence at the municipal level with respect both to those attending the course.
