The City of Ceuta sign a loan of 14.1 million euros to pay its suppliers (16/05/2012)

The Plenum of the City of Ceuta has approved, with the unanimous support of the PP (10 councilors) the signing of a loan of 14.1 million euros to pay overdue bills from their suppliers, as stipulated in the adjustment plan agreed by this corporation on March 29 pursuant to Royal Decree prescribed by the central government.

United Left (a councilor) and PSOE (6 councilors) voted against the agreement, an irresponsible attitude by the Councillor for Economy and Finance, Worship Ayala, especially considering that during the previous mandate over the latter group was generated practice entire debt to the council, which is close to 50 million euros.

The adjustment plan approved by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Public Administration, contains a number of measures of current income to finance current expenditures and debt repayments, including the formalization to pay these 14.1 million euros until 2022 .

This amount represents only bills until December 31, 2011 of providers including the Royal Decree, since this does not include other creditors, including Social Security, Treasury and other public debts, which the City Council and took office in time.

The amount will fund comes from both the City Council and municipal enterprises "Ceutí Promotions" and "Social Management of Ceuta", and corresponds to the certified invoices approved by the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Public Administration on 15 in March.

The certification affects the outstanding obligations submitted by the council before that date of contractors who have expressed their intention of accepting the decree, the outstanding obligations of the positive certification made by the Municipal Intervention and outstanding obligations contractors who have accepted their intention of accepting the plan but are subject to foreclosure proceedings or bankruptcy.

The signing of the credit transaction approved long term be formalized with financial institutions that are assigned by the Official Credit Institute (ICO) with a payback period of 10 years with 2 year grace period and interest not yet finalized by the Ministry.
