The next Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 March the City of Ceuta host the final match of the European project "Gruntvig Power To Resist", which aims to raise awareness among adults that are less permissive alcohol in the minors.
Led by the town of Viborg (Denmark), this initiative Ceuta, the municipality of Tranemo (Sweden), County Oldham (UK) and the NGO "Aliat" (Romania) involved.
Both events will be conducted intensively from 9 to 18 hours in the halls of "Painted House" of the municipality up to hold this project- with the participation of 27 project members, five of them from Ceuta.
In this project two years its partners have worked at local and regional level in four main blocks.
The first is called "venues" and discusses the most appropriate areas to find and convey that message to adults.
The second is called "Mirrowing" and affects how the behavior of older is reflected in their children.
The third is entitled "Empowerment" and discusses how to give authority to the people who must convey the message.
The last block is called "The common message" and is to be treated in Ceuta, setting the ideal transmit, in what format, through which channels ... Message Moreover, in this quotation future courses of action will arise and how to continue collaborating once the project is completed.
"The culmination of the project, the municipality of Tranemo perform a silent film that convey the message aimed at trying to slow the maximum age of onset of minors alcohol," says Councilman ceutiense Health, Francisco José Vidal.
Locally, the City of Ceuta has worked with AMPAS, schools, Local Police, Civil Protection and the "Regenerate, Consciousness Change" association.
"There have been pilot with parents' child, as it is about changing cultures and it is important to start as soon as possible," said Vidal.
Other initiatives
The "Power To Resist" project is included in the strategy of the City of Ceuta to work for health promotion.
In late 2014, the town joined the "Strategy for Health Promotion and Prevention in the NHS", constituting a cross-table to work on these issues at the municipal level, and has recently been signed with the regional government one agreement for the implementation of the "ACTIVE" program.
Its aim is that doctors prescribe Health Center patients therapeutic physical activity to reduce the risk of disease.
