A thirty national and international artists exhibiting in "The Cannery" of Ceuta (17/03/2015)

The Center for Contemporary Art "The Cannery" of Ceuta opens tomorrow, Wednesday 18 March three new exhibitions with the participation of thirty national and international artists.

Active until next June 30 from Tuesday to Friday (16-20 hours), Saturdays (11-20 hours), and Sundays and holidays (from 11-14 hours), these samples proposed by the Ministry of Education, Culture Universities present creations from different disciplines and formats.

For the second scheduled for this season cycle, a jury composed of the director of "Reina Sofia Museum," Manuel Borja-Villel, the art critic Laura Revuelta, and the director of the gallery "Minimum Space", José Martínez Calvo, selected in an international competition to Fernando Castro Flórez, Ara Ana and Eduardo García Nieto as commissioners.

These three professionals have created exclusively for "Canning" projects "Other stories (the awakening of the end of history and storytelling)", "The docile bodies" and "clandestine Happiness", respectively.

Institutional visit

During these new exhibitions on the morning of Tuesday March 17 general director of the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts, Marta Lopez-Briones, and the local mayor, Juan Felipe Cano, visited the facilities accompanied by the commissioners exposure and the Councillor for Culture, Ascension Nicholas.

"These three new projects are committed to quality and to combine the international projection of a space as 'The Canning' with the proximity to the public in the region, you will find in Ceuta through an open space from which to approach the best contemporary art" he said Lopez-Briones.

"The exhibitions that 'The Canning' reopened last October were very well received, around which many activities such as seminars, guided tours, family workshops or activities for schools that gave the opportunity were organized a very broad approach to latest art public, "said the CEO.
