The Minister Pedro Antonio Sánchez opens in Ceuta a permanent exhibition of painters Saura Saura Pacheco and Mira (24/03/2015)

The Minister of Education and Culture of the Regional Government, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, mayor of Ceuta, Juan Felipe Cano, inaugurated on Tuesday morning March 24 at the local House of Culture permanent showroom works Saura Saura Pacheco and Mira.

This event was also attended by the painter himself Fulgencio Saura Mira and the Councillor for Culture, Ascension Nicholas.

"Years ago Saura Look donated to Ceuta part of his work and his father with the promise of City Hall was going to be exhibited in a museum, a commitment that we have now come true with this exhibit," explained the mayor.

The hall houses 45 paintings, oil paintings and watercolors of a total of two hundred works that the artist has donated to the local council for years and during this time have been exposed in different rooms of the City of Ceuta, including salon full and in the chapel of the hamlet of Los Torraos.

Look Saura's works are on display in the new hall in a retrospective manner, so you can appreciate the artist's evolution from his early work as a child to full maturity.

Thus, attendees will witness how the painter was formed, how were springing his pictorial personality and how she ended up becoming the great artist today is recognized by the ceutiense Consistory.

Two great artists

Look Saura inherited his skill with the brush of his father Fulgencio Saura Pacheco (Murcia, 1905-1999), who is also dedicated room opened today.

Saura Pacheco was a student of the Fine Arts of Murcia and its most representative work is between 1940 and 1950. This author always characterized by his passion for before and fertile Segura river flowing, and the landscapes and capturing the Mediterranean light in the Murcia fields.

Meanwhile, Saura Look born in 1938 and just 16 years and rode his first exhibition at the "Chys" room, giving the go-ahead to a prolific life in which besides the painting has had time to combine with literature and journalism.

In fact, it's official chronicler of Fortuna and Abanilla, and as a painter has always unfolded very well in both oil and watercolor.

His works reveal his penchant for landscapes and Murcia city life, and is also characterized by their enthusiastic interest in color and figurative and abstract shapes.

Throughout his life, Saura Mira has also exhibited at the showroom CAM-Hammer and was the subject of a heartfelt tribute by the city of Murcia in Almudí Palace Arts Center.
