Councillor for Culture of the consistory, Josefa Hurtado, met today at the Ministry of Culture of Murcia with the Director General for Cultural Promotion, Antonio Martínez, who presented the project to promote the "National Song Contest of Copyright" , also entitled "Cantigas de Mayo."
Martinez was interested in the project, launched in 2000 on a regional basis, which convenes each year to hundreds of songwriters to select twelve of which are awarded to three, and whose songs are published and distributed a promotional CD.
Each season comes also a guest artist, and selflessly gives a song from his repertoire for the compact, and this has brought to Ceuta to Chavela Vargas, Jorge Drexler and Susana Baca, among others.
The event will be presented next season at the General Society of Authors in Madrid, which will present the singer / songwriter Uxía.
