The Department of Culture, New Technologies, Communication, Women and Education, directed by Howard Fine, is conducting several workshops to raise awareness among residents of Ceuta in securities of non-violence and equality between men and women.
One of them is he who teaches self defense techniques for women to protect themselves from physical and psychological violence in the workplace and family.
It is taught by Professor Roland Madrid in collaboration with the police officer Gaston Ceutí Local Duarte.
This year has 75 students, is conducted in groups of up to 30 people and has a duration of 15 hours (one hour and a half per week).
At completion, participants will receive a certificate of attendance.
It has also organized sensitization workshops on the four schools, led in different ways to parents and students.
In the latter case, the number of participants is 29, because the courses were taught in the afternoon, one day a week outside school hours.
However, for the next course is scheduled to take place within school hours, being addressed to students enrolled in 4, 5 and 6.
According to Councillor Howard Fine, the efforts of the Consistory in schools are aimed at "educating people from below, so you can correct certain patterns that appear in the young."
He stressed that it is intended "to improve family life" and also "ensure that women quit more than domestic and be encouraged to participate actively in the life of the municipality, while the man is partly responsible for household chores."
The mayor announced that they are working on a project to "enhance access to employment for women, which will provide information to employers, through a pen, the tax benefits and subsidies that can be achieved by setting the plan equality within their enterprise. "
