Exhibition in the Museum "Antonio Campos" of Ceuta (23/12/2009)

A great tenderness and spontaneous feeling for life are two of the most significant in the exhibition of drawings by the painter and sculptor Mariano Ballester Antonio Campillo home on display in the museum that this author has Ceutí until 21 February.

With the title "Two masters of drawing, the sample consists of fifty drawings, all unpublished, thirty of them and twenty Campillo Antonio Mariano Ballester, from a private collection temporarily loaned to the museum house of Ceuta.

In the work of both predominantly female nudes, studies, first impressions and scenes sketched in charcoal, with respect to Antonio Campillo, referring to his sculptures, female figures riding plethoric constitution tireless and beloved children rocking motherly hugs.

Murcia sculptor's works during his last days is also shown in the exhibition, all with a significant characteristic of the author to capture the impression of life, the psyche of the human touch, simple and profound, as he always embodied, reaching a significant and logical fatigue.

Antonio Campillo was named "Adopted son of Ceuta" and he was given the "Golden Shield" Hall of the town in March 2003.

The donation of a huge sculpture, drawings and paintings from his personal collection up the back of the house museum that bears his name.

Antonio Ballester drawings are also studies in pencil and ink, some of them patent the process followed by the author when he captured the natural world renowned genre scenes, his travels, his immediate surroundings, reviewed later with the thick black brush stroke .

There are, moreover, that describe the memory of the painter: agile, spontaneous strokes with the precision of a grandmaster.

Prominent among them the familiar everyday scenes, which the author lived in the same house with his wife and son, identifiable sketches completed in later work, in addition to several other interpretations of the world's most near and dear.

There are also works for the anthology of his paintings, including a sketch of the ceramic mural made for Mariano Ballester based in Murcia of the German company BASF.
